Holiday Entitlement Calculator
Calculate your statutory annual leave entitlement based on your working pattern.
UK Holiday Entitlement Rules
All UK workers are entitled to 5.6 weeks of paid holiday per year. For someone working 5 days a week, that's 28 days (which can include the 8 bank holidays). Employers can choose to give bank holidays on top, but they don't have to.
Part-Time Workers
Part-time workers get a pro-rata entitlement. Working 3 days a week? You get 3 × 5.6 = 16.8 days.
What This Calculator Does
This calculator works out your annual leave entitlement in the UK, including for part-time workers, those starting mid-year, and workers with irregular hours. It is designed for employees and employers checking statutory and contractual holiday allowances.
How the Calculation Works
UK statutory minimum is 5.6 weeks (28 days for full-time, including bank holidays). The calculator pro-rates for part-time hours, start date, and leave year. It handles accrual methods for irregular workers.
Common Scenarios
A full-time employee starting on 1 July would accrue 14 days for the remainder of the leave year. A part-time worker doing 3 days per week gets 16.8 days statutory leave. Many employers offer 25 days plus bank holidays (33 total).
