Sick Pay Calculator
Calculate your Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) entitlement.
SSP Rates 2025

What This Calculator Does
This calculator shows your SSP entitlement for a period of sickness absence, including how qualifying days and waiting days affect your payments. It is designed for employees and employers checking Statutory Sick Pay entitlement.
How the Calculation Works
SSP pays £116.75/week for up to 28 weeks. It starts after 3 waiting days (no pay) and is paid on qualifying days only (usually your normal working days). Many employers top this up with contractual sick pay.
Common Scenarios
One week off sick as a full-time worker: you receive zero for the first 3 waiting days and then SSP for 2 qualifying days (roughly £46.70). Two weeks off: £163.45. The NHS Sick Pay scheme pays full pay for up to 6 months depending on service.
